TONY ESTRADA

DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / LINE PRODUCER

Tony Estrada is a Navajo Director, Producer, & Line Producer who initially started out in the business as an Assistant Director on Los Angeles film & television productions, and he has since progressed to producing or directing corporate communications projects, broadcast television, documentaries, or long form narratives (features) in HD, video, or film formats. His reputable business savvy and knowledge of film scheduling & budgeting, as well as his calm supervision on set, have put him in demand for indie films, TV documentaries, & high-profile cultural projects.

 

Tony is well acquainted with SAG Low Budget productions and has helmed or line produced commercials, music videos, independent feature films, & television documentary productions on both coasts, and throughout Texas, New Mexico, & Arizona. Some notable documentaries Tony has worked on include: Lowel Pierce’s documentary on Native Americans, The Elders Speak; the HBO television series From the Earth to the Moon; a heartfelt documentary focusing on the lives of professional wrestlers, Beyond the Mat; and the PBS documentary, Mining in the West, for Director/Producer Scott Slack of Turtle Island Media.

 

As your First Assistant Director, Tony assists the Director in achieving her creative vision by motivating the crew to move quickly and smoothly; making actors feel at ease on set; and leading the Director and crew in fully maximizing their shooting day. As your Line Producer, Tony creates realistic shooting schedules, develops accurate line item production budgets, and assembles efficient production teams. And as a Director, Tony transcends cultural boundaries to create documentary films that matter.
